been wondering about this since i got my civic, drivers side door lock...
like i said i've been wondering about this for awhile, but never thought to ask here, my car is an eg hatch, the drivers side dool lock does not lock unless you pull the inside handle open, and you have to hold it to lock the door, someone told me thats a safty feature to keep you from locking yourself out of the car, but it dosn't sound right to me. and if its not supposed to do that, how do i fix it?

yeah it's an idiot proof safety feature of Hondas. That's the only way you can lock it unless you have keyless entry.

it will only do what your explaining if your door is open.
if the door is closed it should lock without you holding anythng.
