Default Been away for a while now i got the itch.. looking for where to jump back in

Well guys, have been off this forum for over a year at least.. I had gotten to busy with school and work to play with cars.. so over i had bought a 96 sol auto- to keep me from driving fast and gettin back into it..

Well i'm about to graduate and looking for a newer car.. Don't really know whats good today honestly..

Current car history:
1989 Mustang(sold)
1988 CRX(totaled)
1992 integra(traded for 91 rex)
1991 CRX(painted waaay to light blue and sold)
1989 CRX(broken into 3 times in new brunswick.. frustrated and sold)Zc'd
1996 Del sol(daily driver)SI stock d16 automatic

From my history you can see i dont really like family or practical cars- But i do like them to look "different" and be somewhat fun.. but not like a mini-minivan(aka toyota matrix look)

Just looking for some help on whats available... Basically gonna budget somewhere from 2-12 grand depending on whats out there.. Looking to drive this car daily but still be able to carry around small workout equipment(eg portable benches)
I would keep the sol but i feel its alotta work to convert n swap it being a d16 auto..

btw- del sol is in great shape cypress green 115k clean completely stock cept 6 disc changer and security failsafe starter.. driven back and forth to work (about 15 miles) and school (5 miles to so) daily.. but has a line crack in the winshield thats upseting me so all this would need to be fixed also

Just got the itch any input is appreciated :-P

Scion? They are really good practical cars, like the Xb to haul all that stuff. you could try to find a used TC but that may be out of your price range.. or maybe a accord wagon..

thanks for the reply.. i guess i should list what i definetly wasn't looking for :-P

basically something thats not a wagon, or scion or any 4 doors unless they're real unique, something with speed possibly under 15secs to give a ballpark.. could be faster.. i dunno really totally lost on this one.. i still love rex's but they are just too old nowadays

.. would like to stay in honda family.. but not seeing any promise as del sol being the best option i can see..

thanks again! still lookin!

That was a possibility.. The only thing that worries me.. is I'd want it swapped.. and i no longer have a garage for serious work like that.. and buying one swapped isn't a very comfortable thing for me :-)

Oh well, here they are anyway-

The engine bay is painted black now, I just put the clutch and flywheel in this week, the guy that painted my car still has to wetsand and clearcoat it, thats why it looks dull. I ran an 8.6 in the 1/8th, with my old slipping clutch, on street tires.

rsx with bolt ons and kpro will hit low 14's easy all day long with shitty weather and launching my friend can hit 14.3 easy all day... an ep3 will be under 15 with bolt ons and kpro also they run high 14's i think to mid.... anything with a k-series is what you want it you want to somewhat quick and reliable because with bolt ons they are easy to make power!

As I was reading the original post, I couldn't help but think you need an eg hatch.... I have packed mine sooo full of junk before.... you can fit a del sol hood or an eg hood in it and have room for more stuff...

also, considering that (based on the original post) 12k for a car, you really have the money to buy a nice stock car, and pay for it to get swapped. I've also seen some really well done swaps out there...

Good luck on the search, but they just don't make them like they used to

buy an 99-00 civic Si...there a very sexy car stock..the colors are gorgeous...aside from MR...i don't like red....and they have a B series in it...so if you had the itch to swap it it'd be way easier considering taking one B out and putting another in...could do it in your driveway...
