beaks reinforcement kit...what do you think of it?
Im the market for a rear sway bar and i see that beaks makes a...well lets call it a poor mans subframe reinforcement kit. I've researched a little and you can use a 22mm sway with some rear lower tie bars (for looks sake). Can anybody give me more feedback on this reinforcement kit? will it do the job? Also i'm coming from a EJ8 which doesn't come with a factory rear sway.

ASR is superior in every way to the beaks, it's WELL worth the extra what, $80?
Especially with a 22mm, I don't think the beaks is capable of keeping your subframe safe.

get the ASR, its way better. Search beaks and Subframe in the search on here and you will find a few threads about subframe failure with the beaks. I havent heard anything bad about the ASR. I know I like mine. ASR=peace of mind

thx for the comments guys, i might just be going with a stock gsr rear sway...i really dont want to deal with subframe damage.
i drove my little bros em1 this weekend (bone stock) his frame felt alot stiffer with that factory rear sway.

What's the size in mm's of the oem gsr rear sway?</TD></TR></TABLE>
To big to use without reinforcement. I have the 13mm Si Bar on my car. It was fun for a while, I'm wanting to upgrade now. I think using anything over the 13mm Si bar is to much for an 6th Gen subframe. I wanna say the GSR is 16mm but I could be wrong. It's either 16 or 18. I know the ITR bar is 22.

Re: (egsleepercivic)
Honestly with any sway bar I'd get the asr kit just for reassurance.
It's So worth the $180 to not have to worry about The likely thousands it would cost to fix your subframe.

so will it be safe to run a gsr sway? the si rear sways are 13mm so they do stress a little less on the subframe.

i remember reading that it would be okay to use 13/14mm rear sways without a reinforcement kit. I know the 6th gen subframe is the weakest out of the eg/ej and da/dc's but i doubt a 14mm will tear my frame. can anybody confirm this??calling all EJ8's with 14mm rear sways.

honda put put a bulletin about subframe tear outs on dc2 and eg civics with rear sways, and this is stock
this is why the em1 has a lil beefer mount point it is ok for oem si or gsr bar but thats it, 22mm will rip out em1s ive seen them...
npw for all of you putting rear sways on civics that don't have one and are not em1 you do not have that extra bracing honda used for factory bars. id say with time you will get a tear out now with time could be 2 yrs

much appreciated for your feedback bro...
i agree with what you said about the subframing tearing out with time. Stress is caused by time it wont be a instant next day thing.
