battery problem?
i just got my new gsr engine from hmo, i got it in , i havent connected the cables for the transsmision but i have the clutch depressed and try to start it and nothing happens, i tried jumping it and still nothing.
does the tranny have to be hooked up its a manual so i dont see why it would need to be, and the pump does prime when i turn the key but nothing after that.

Re: battery problem?
check your grounds...
from trans to frame
from engine harness to thermosta housing.
valve cover to shock tower
etc
does your lights and everything come on in the gauge cluster? or is it like everything is dead??

Re: battery problem?
I'm guessing it doesn't even crank? Does the starter engage at all? If nothing else you can try bridging the ground and 12 volt lead at the starter to see if you've got power there. If that doesn't work, the starter isn't getting power and/or proper ground, or it may be bad altogether. If it does work, then you've got some issues between the ignition signal and your starter. Make sure you're insulated from the tool when doing this, It'll be a nasty shock if you're not.
