Barely Failed Emissions.. how do i fix it?
Car:
1993 Honda Civic Si (Hatchback)
Motor:
1995 OBD1 GSR
- Skunk 2 Intake Mani, AEM Cold Air Intake (the real kind), DC 4-2-1 Exhaust
- Stock Exhaust Piping/Muffler/Cat
ECU: P28
- - - - - - - - - -HC (PPM) - CO (%) - CO+CO2 (%) - O2 (%) - RPM
Cruise Limit: 190 - - 1.4 - - 6 - - NA - - NA
Cruise Emissions: 139 - - .54 - - 15.14 - -.53 - - 3150
Result: Pass - - Pass - - NA - - NA
Idle Limit: 220 - - 1.2 - - 6 - - NA - - NA
Idle Emissions 245 - - .55 - - 14.75 - - 1.2 - -750
Result: Fail - - Pass - - NA - - NA - - NA
SO.. wtf? How do i fix that. It does idle at like 800 like a good little honda, and it produces no visable emissions except when cold
And, I don't know if it makes a difference, but for the car info, its a SEDAN, and a 1.5 liter.. which is incorrect. Stock is 1.6L, and its a Hatchback, not a 4 door POS..
Help appreciated. I definately need to get this bitch passed, registered, insured, before Friday.. for our local "High School Drags" event at a local raceway

I would help, but since you're one ignorant ************ by saying this statement, I guess I won't. What does a Sedan have ANYTHING to do with your econobox failing emissions?

too much fuel man u need to lean it out somehow or put ur stock **** back on, HC is unburnt fuel
and witht he printout on the sheet, they do what the vin tells them, and there are only a few choices for what kind of car it is, if its a car its a Sedan

I have a sedan... I think its a great car! Lean up the fuel mixture. Do what they said above, if it still dont pass then u may have a bad O2 sensor

throwing on your stock header w/ heatshield could help. Check your O2 sensor and finally check your cat. Make sure when you take your car in you have had it started and drove it for a while. You didn't mention it, but do you have a low temp thermo? If you do replace w/ one that's oem spec.

Also if you had to wait in line a while your cat probably cooled down too much. Just drive it around super hard for a while, maybe 45 min so the cat is nice and hot. Then get there when there is no line.

i used to have a sedan. still do. sure, it was nice having 4 doors for people to pile into the back. but, i prefer a 2 door, just cuz its roomier. and, i figured it could've made a difference, because it might give it different limits. idiot.
anyways, i drove from school to the place, approx 6 miles, and that included freeway the last 2 miles of the drive. prior to leaving school (right before, like didn't turn the car off) i did some hard driving (aka showing off). It was nice n warm, thermo read just below the middle line, steady idle at 800, it was all gravy.
i posted on another forum, and most are saying the problem is probably the cat, since it is stock piping and probably hasn't been replaced ever. so im going to grab the one from my 94 civic 4-doh, since it only has like 1000 miles on it.
