the way they did it in ohio is if you could prove the motor was a newer year motor then the year of the car and you had all emissions equipment for that motor in place and functional you would get a waiver regardless of size etc. but I know california is a lot more strict on everything.
last option, get an out of state address where you can get mail preferabally one with no emissions testing.

California is stupid. If their are no State ref then they shound do away with that BS emission laws and make it like the other states if it runs clean and has all the emissions stuff then you are go to go. But what i heard was that they will just make you go to a regular smog station and they will do what the ref does, but i think it only work for like intake's and header's, not on a swap. But i am stuck in the same boat, I have B16 in my hatch that i am waiting to BAR, But we have to love california's cool laws.

Re: (Thizzed Out)
per response to previous entries...
u CAN jus post ur bail amount...
this would require NO court dates/ref appt.'s/etc.
albeit this is the most expensive route...
yet most hassle-free
hope this info help

Re: (teamvirus)
as long as the turbo is C.A.R.B. approved and has a C.A.R.B. sticker with a number issued to the company who makes the turbo it is fine. unless the CAT. has been relocated. so no turbos on and lx or dx were the turbo is on the exhaust manifold.
after you get a green light from the ref they should put a sticker on the door jam stating that the engine and car are legal. I had that done on a old mustang I had I coverted it to a cobra w/ emissions they just stickered it and sent me on my way.

To me thats worth it. The guys at the BAR can be like ****'s. You wouldn't believe what I had to go through to get my motor BARed. Your turbo was not street legal right? So you can still just pay the ticket even if its not street legal?
