Default ball joint question

I bought some 10.3" front spindles for my dx and the ball joints are kinda loose, so im gonna change them while its all off of course. Im on a tight budget with some unfortunate things that have happened latly. At my local auto parts store I can get regular ball joints with 3 months guarentee for about 35$ for both, or moog lifetime guarentee balljoints for 130$ for both.
My question is i dont mind using the lower quality ones so long as they work well when they do, if i need to change them in a year so be it. If they work like crap right of the bat im less interested, can anyone share their experiences with regular quality ball joints.

I've replaced a cheap ball joint twice in one year, second time I was fed up and bought one from the honda dealer. Point to take in: I put around 300,000kms on the original honda lower ball joints (one side was a little under 300,000, the other side was a little over) on shitty new brunswick roads driving year round. Cheap aftermarket was only good for around 5000kms. Real honda ball joints are just over $100 CDN from the dealership but just about last forever, your call.

Since when were Moog joints that much? I got Moog joints for my 93 CX hatch (original knuckles still) and they were like $45 each. They should be about the same for most Civics.

Take the old joints out, and then tell me you'd rather buy junk parts and change those out twice. You're going to have to buy another set of axle nuts while you're at it, so there's another $10 or so.

Since the OP is in Canada. It cost me $101.00 to buy the same OEM honda lower ball joint that Majestic honda shows at having a US list price of $48.00US. Their own price was even lower again. Aftermarket is the same way, even when you figure in the exchange rate it just plain costs a lot more for new car parts here.

Oh yeah. especially if you do it the way I did without a press you'll want to do it as few times as possible.

If it's just the sites scamming people, I'll go out and buy the parts, and then people can just pay exactly what I paid, plus shipping. I can't imagine the exchange rate being THAT bad.

I did my joints with a press, and it still sucked. I busted one of my fingers open, dropped a knuckle on my foot twice and had it fall on my hand one or two times. I'd rather do the job myself, but the $30 a side a shop quoted me to change the joints out is looking more appealing after the fact.
