im gonna bake mine just cause im on a budget. It will never look quite like real JDM, but it still looks very nice imo, and its a cool got-bored-DIY for all us little time ballas.

hey if you bake it and paint it with Tamiya transparent Smoke color paint, then it actually looks pretty close to the real deal headlights. i saw a guy on HT that used that paint instead of black and it looked really good. But I have never used that paint myself so I am not 100% sure that it will look good.

Hey thanks ill look into that... I talked to one guy who did flat black on the bottom and then a light layer of metallic flake paint over that, and it looked ok... but thank you for the suggestion ive been looking for some ideas

paint or buy knock off's.
If I saw some real JDM CTR head lights I'd break'em $450 is too much for a stupid reflective housing.

I don't see why everyone always hates on the CTR headlights... say you actually got a good deal on them... would they still be so bad? I got my genuine ctr's for $170 (shipped) because they had 2 big scratches down the front lenses... dropped them off with my friend at the body shop, the next day, they were crystal clear like new (polished that plastic till it looks like glass). Look around... just be thrifty while you're at it.

dont make the mistake most people make and think you can make them look just like CTR's my friend did this got close but no cigar. the real CTR's have a black REFLECTIVE chrome housing and you cant make yours nearly as reflective as the real ones so go for black IMO

Sounds like a plan, and I'd do it if I had some extra money..but I don't...so I guess it's a moot point.

It's not that they hate them, they hate the price of em. Unless i had money dripping out the butt, i wouldn't pay $450 for em, but i would pay $170 for em anyday.
