Re: this is bahraini civic (bahraini civic)
welcome to H-T!!!
by "background" i assume you mean the gauge cluster face?
There were two civic hatches made in 99, the CX and the DX. I'm not sure, but I think the DX came with a tach (is this right, anyone?). If that's the case then you most likely have a CX (or equivalent).

I'd say it's a CX since it doesn't have a tachometer. I believe that if you swap in any EK EX/Si cluster the tack will work because I believe it's prewired for a tach.

I didn't think the DX model didn't come with a tach either, at least my 2000 4-door DX didn't. You would probably be safe if you bought gauge overlays (i'm assuming your talking about gauge overlays) for a DX or a CX. Where are you buying from? If it's from ebay, the auction will usually show a picture of what it looks like and you can go from there.

Re: (neutron91)
It is a 96-98 Cx or DX.
You can also tell the body by the rear hatch spoiler
DX looks like this
Where as the CX rear spoiler looks like this

Re: (2.0L EK)
DX hatches didn't come with tachs.
Check if your hatch is a DX or CX by the wing as stated above.
If not that, see if you have A/C. I think only the DX came with A/C.
