Default bad headlights, any suggestions?

I'm not so happy with the headlights on my 95 hatch, they are not evan close to as bright as i would like them to be. What have you people done to fix this problem? i don't want any ricer *** hid lights that are cheaply made either. Will Jdm or Euro lights fix my problem? My dad put some euro lights in his 86' alfa gtv6 and now they are brighter than the lights on his 03' A4.

If the surface of the headligth it yellowish, you can try to poish it, i sand mines with 1500 grid sand paper, and seams to help, they don't look new, but they do look a lot better, you can also try some polish creame, that's what i'm doing next....
