Alright my car has been sitting since LAST novmeber... I put STA-BIL in the tank and I just changed the fuel pump and when I had the tank open I took out some gas and it lit on fire, does that mean it should be able to get my motor running, even if it is running poorly??
The thing was I blew my block and then put the sta-bil in it so I didn't have a chance to run it for a couple minutes to get it through the lines. So how long would it take to get to the good gas since I know i have shitty gas in my lines? Also the sta-bil is good for one year, and I am a couple months past a year so is there any chance that the gas is bad??
And is it a good idea to use some starting fluid in it to get it to eat up the bad gas faster?

it keeps trying to start and burps a lot but won't stay turned over!!! any ideas of what i could do??

update: It feels like it is going to start the hiccups and burps of the motor just almost cranking over are more frequent, but it feels like it is burping or hiccuping out of the intake????? did i expletive something up?! it just smells like bad gas! I NEED AN ANSWER!!!

did you do anything else since its been sitting?? Or has it just been sitting there, and now you are trying to start it up. Pull of your cap and check that. PUll the spark plugs, maybe they are all coroded. You said you blew the block, so did you rebuild, re swap??

yea i swapped blocks, oil pans, got new plugs, new gaskets, checked they are getting spark, and fuel, and timing is perfect, still no spark!!!!

so what else could it be but bad gas?

you said in your last post that you have no spark ...

check your ICM and coil, and also make sure that your dizzy is still good...

haha yea i checked about 1 million things it seems... i guess i am just gonna have to start off at page 1 and do it all again. thanks for the help guys
