BAD CAT post #2
Recently i had my cat go bad on me... whole story
here --> https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=937273 http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...3/f7acbf8e.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...b/f7acbf92.jpg looks to me it was a BAD CAT... WHY? because i know my car didnt get soo hot... because if it would have gotten so hot... it would have made the colorful patter metal gets when it gets hot (such as your headers) when i grinded the thing open... changed colors.. so i know it wasnt my engine... but the guy who tod me it was my engine... isnt a mechanic... and I doubted that crap... but comments are welcome.. and the tech in this was... well i had to take my whole exhaust off, cut n grind the cat off, cut it open and see what exactly was wrong with it. |

Re: BAD CAT post #2 (dirtyd463)
I think you should gut it and see what it sounds like, depending on your setup it will sound good or like complete shit. But theres only one way to find out

Re: BAD CAT post #2 (mustninty)
haha yeah i was just going to gut it, but in this cat theres two honeycomb peices, i took out only one of them (the loose one) and welded it back... sounds hella geeeehhhhh yeah....nasty! but ill be getting a replacement cat soon....
so yeah thanks for looking... |
Re: BAD CAT post #2 (al3e)
maybe you are running crazy rich?
|
no il go with shitty cat, if it was rich you would be able to tell by looking at the honeycomb.
|
Why not leave it off, run a test pipe, call it a day?
