BAD CAT?

What's up everyone quick question. lately mycar has been making a rattling sound at higher rpms. sounds like it's coming from the bottom of my car. i've been searching and i found out that when a cat goes bad it will stink. and if the honeycomb breaks apart it will rattle. and i just remembered that about 3 weeks ago my car smelled like booty. nasty booty. and now i can hear the rattling even louder. I seafoamed my car this past weekend and adjusted all my valves. checked timing and changed plugs an oil. I'm pretty sure that the cat is gone. anyone else care to put some insight? i kinda don't want to spend a couple hundred on a new one but i think i may have to. Sound about right to you guys? by the way stock b7.

i had the same problem, it could be your cat goin bad from your motor goin bad but my case was that the heat sheild covering the cat was making it rattle at a certain rpm due to the exhaust coming out.

so, try takin that heat sheild out. maybe youve been scrapin too much.

well i just gutted my cat and i can still hear the noise. i had my girl drive it around and it sounds like its coming from the front left tire. could this be a wheel bearing? it sounds like sparratic metal on metal. i already checked the brakes. the only thing i can think of is that the wheel bearing is shot. it does not affect performance. I'M SO CONFUSED!!! help.
