Default random info about turn signal / hazard lights and 6 beeps

This post is to put some random info into a thread as I couldn't find the info a couple nights ago when I was searching around.

After installing my radio I no longer had turn signals or hazard lights. I found one page on the 'net the mentioned that the hazard switch must be plugged in (and working) or you will have problems with your turn signal (no lights, no flash).. In my case the Previous owner had cut/taped the hazard switch wires and one of them pulled loose. Once I fixed that my turn signals and hazards started working again..

What gave me a heart attack when I got that problem was that I was also getting 6 beeps when I turned on my parking lights. I thought it was related to the illumination power wire from the stereo harness (from the Previous owner) that looked like it might have shorted to ground. Turns out that the 6 beeps I was hearing was the seat belt reminder. Aparently on a 2000 civic hx there is a seat belt warning of 6 beeps when you turn on the lights AND the drivers seat belt isn't buckled (with the car on.. with the car off you get the steady beep if you turn on the lights).

Hopefully that info will help someone else.. If this is in an FAQ somewhere please let me know as I could really use that kind of info as I'm still new to hondas (my last one was an '82 accord which I gave to my little brother back in 1992 so I'm relearning hondas)
