Bad axle question....(searched)
My steering wheel is vibrating over 25mph and I know its an axle. My question is, which one is it? When I turn right the vibration stops but going straight or turning left makes it vibrate. Is it possible to tell which one it is by what direction the wheel is turned when it stops vibrating?

Think about it, when you are turning right, the pressure is on the left front wheel (axle), and vice versa.
So your right axle is probably bad...

Re: (JIDUM_Undercover)
If you go to Orileys (sp?) you can get a new set for a B series with lifetime warranty for about 150 or so with the cores. Not sure if it would be about the same for the D or not.

Mine went bad, but the boots were in perfect shape. This really confused me because I couldn't figure out why an axle would just start clickling/knocking really loud. It turns out that a bad rack end bushing inside my steering gearbox, combined with a bad tie rod balljoint, caused a lot of vibration on the passenger side front suspension. All that vibration destroyed the outter CV joint w/o tearing the boot. I had to replace it within 2 years.
Just letting you know because it sounds like your CV joints went bad without tearing a boot too. You may want to get under the car while sombody wiggles the tires around & look for any loose steering/suspension parts.
D-Series Axles are $60 after core return each side at autozone (lifetime warranty)...

Make sure you check out that front end including your tires and find out what the real source of the problem is coming from...hate to find out after replacing your axles that you'd need new joints when it all could've been done all at once
