Backup lights Auto to manual
How do you wire up the backup lights in an Eg auto to manual. Its in an ex. I have the back up sensor pluged into the original harness where the auto sensor would go, now what do I do with the wires? Where do they go? Everything else is perfect.

Re: Backup lights Auto to manual (93turbo16)
i did this on my last car when i did the auto to manual. unfortunately this was like 3 yrs ago when i did it. i believe we plugged in the plug, then cut the wires and ran them into the cabin to that automatic slider box under the shifter console. after that, we put the car in reverse, and then started touching the wires to different wire points on the auto slider box. it only took like 5 mins or so to find it. then u just solder it in and ur done. hope this helps

the automatic closes a switch on the shift box, the manual closes a switch in the transmission.
there should be a yellow and grn/blk wire that runs to the automatic shift position connector (14pin), the yel wire has power and the grn/blk wire has reverse signal. they both need to run to the backup light switch on the trans just below the distributor. (same color wires)
