Default Back up lights not working. I get power at socket but no light.

Hey guys what up.

I dont remember when this started happening but anyways here goes my scinerio. I drive a 93 hatch. I did a voltage drop test and I get power all the way from battery to socket; But whenever I put a bulb in the bulb wont light up. The bulb is good (I put 12 volts through it directly from battery and it lights). I dont know whats goin on. If I get 12 volts at the socket shouldnt the bulb light up when I put it it.

Thanks in advance

I would check connection points on the bulb and in the socket, make sure there is no corrosion or any crud on either of them. Just because you get the right voltage and can make the light light up using a secondary source doesn't always mean the connection between the bulb and the socket is good. Also it wouldn't hurt to pick up a new bulb just in case ya know. Hope this helps ya!
