b7 block z6 head mini me now code 14
surging idle, but smooths out when given throttle. will free rev just fine. havent driven it yet, but want it running right before i do.
car had a d16z6 in it. spun a rod bearing, so i grabbed a cheap b7 block.
never toich anything with the intake manifold or anything like that. just pulled the head off,and put it on the b7 block with a new headgasket.
can ran fine before, no surging idle, just a hell of a knock.
the only thing i can figure is there was an extra water "port" on the water pipe on the back of the b7 block that i capped off and ran the hoses like the z6 had. thats the only difference. the hoses were for the iacv though.
any input is helpful. yes i searched. i havent spent much time looking at the car, just lookong for a good starting point.

Check to make sure your IACV is connected and verify you have the right connector hooked up, wires should be blue/yellow and yellow/black.

Yeah. I swapped plugs. Surging idle fixed.
Cuts off after running for 3 minutes. Only runs when I give it gas.
Still have code 14 also.

Found a ground cable I forgot to hook up.
Now just idles low and cuts off about 50% of time after I give it gas and let off.
Vacuum leak? I don't see anything, but I don't know what else to think.

Yes. Stock cam gear. But everything lined up alright. I advanced my distributor a little to help compensate.
Drove it today finally. Runs good once it gets going. Has a slight stutter until about 1800 rpm, then smooths out. Goes in to vtec at like 4500. I'm going to have to make sure it's a stock p28 computer. Bought the car for $350 with the spun rod bearing.
Doesn't die every time I let off the gas, but a couple time it just drops idle too fast and dies. I do have a lightweight fidanza flywheel, but that shouldn't affect it I don't think.

As I understand it, you still have to make up the difference between the different block heights. The difference in degrees is something like 4.5degrees I think. Might be the reason you still have the stutter.

car runs like a dream when cold.
as soon as it warms up, it wants to die off throttle. runs great while it's moving.
suggestions?
