Re: b20b vs b20v (EGdrop6)
here's what hmotorsonline.com is saying about DJM and USDM blocks:
30025 - B20B 96-98 (CRV) Long Block
146Hp 133Trq 8.8 Compression(JDM)
146Hp 133Trq 8.8 Compression (USDM)
$ 649.00 Plus shipping and handling.
Category: JDM USDM Engines
so only about 3HP difference, i dunno about anything else, somebody can probably tell u alot more i haven't looked into b20 blocks much, all i know is that they have lots of torque

No the B20B is only rated at like 130hp....the B20Z is rated at 140something hp.
The main difference is suppposedly the long neck intake manifold. The intake manifold is different on the b20b and the b20z.
Also the compression on the b20z is higher..wich = more hp/tq N/A.
Go with the B20Z...you'll have more punch to start out with.
If you are going to rebuild it anyhow...it wouldn't really matter, cause both are 2.0L, so size doesn't matter here.

Re: (Boosted Power)
97-98 USDM AND JDM B20B is 8.8CR with 126HP and 133TQ.
99+ USDM B20Z is 9.6CR and 146HP and 133TQ (might be 135 TQ)
99+ JDM B20B is 9.6CR and 146HP and 133TQ (see above)
97-? JDM B20B w/ P8R head is ?CR ?HP ?TQ but lots more Power.
I pulled a 15.801@86MPH in Calgary 3600Ft above sealevel in a Teg weighing 2750lbs with me in it. Yeah im big Motor just had Dc header, CAI, and custom exhaust with a 2.302 60ft.
