i finished up yesterday, but when i tried starting it, it didnt start. a couple mins later it started up but sounded like a lawn mower/harley. although when i pressed the gas the lights dimmed and it turned off.

also, for the obd2b 3 to 2 wire iacv pin repin it threw a cel. when i changed it back the cel went away. im using the obd2 ecu right now(p2e). i know its sohc, but shouldnt it have started anyways? any help will be good.

sounds like a wiring issue maybe? is your altenator good?

yeah i thought it was. would that cause my car to bog tho? it kinda sounds like its only firing a few cylinders. and would the timing being off by a tooth affect it this much?

You need a ecu you can tune. You need at least some kind of base map. You will blow that motor in a matter of minutes if you try and drive it around with that map. The reason your having that problem and your car sounds funny is because the ignition timing is so far off. I bet your header got ridiculously hot really fast too.

yeah, the exhaust is one tooth below the intake line

no the header didnt heat up too quick, but my b20 is turbo'd. the cast iron stayed the same color. i know that i shouldnt run the car with that ecu, but i was just trying to start it up

It being turboed is even worse. You really shouldnt even try to start it without some kind of base map. When I said timing I didnt mean cam timing. You need a basemap just get one asap.

There's a tuner directory in the Forced Induction section on H-T.com and you can easily purchase the correct ecu on ebay.com or in the Marketplace in H-T.com

Do it now -- before you really expletive things up worse.

i was just wondering if it could have been other things. please understand i know im using the wrong ecu, so the noob comment was a little foolish... i'm just trying to start it to see if itll start up

You're also trying to start it with the timing obviously off a tooth and with injectors that your ECU can't run. Explain to me how that's not noobish behavior and I'll retract my statement.

i never even mentioned injectors so i dont know where you came up with the injectors my ecu cant run. i tried out some 275cc injectors at first and they didnt run(i believe they were peak and hold), so i swapped my injectors off the old motor and it fired up but was sounding like ****. anyways the 275's need the resistor box and i was waiting to put my 450's in before i wired the box in but i think i will do it now. my ecu will run the injectors(correct me if im wrong, and im talking about the 275's, not 450's). as for starting it up with the p2e ecu, i was waiting on my conversion harness to be mailed back. i had recieved the wrong one and couldnt hook up my p75. i know im no guru by far, or i wouldnt come here for advice, but i was just seeing if it would start. thats why i think the bashing was a little unnecessary

Ok here you go. NO it wont start dont even try you will mess your motor up.

That ECU can NOT run that engine.
a turbo B20 isn't like an N/A B16 that can be limped around on a single cam ECU.

alright thank you guys for the clarity... im not tryin to be a pain in the ***, but thats the answer i needed. harness got arrived at the house this week. but i dont live where my car is right now so i have to work on it this weekend. will keep you guys updated...
