Re: B20B swap into a 00 civic si (1SiC 3DR)
no im so sorry i mean everything will fit right? Any mods i need to do? Why should i not put that in i mean vs. an b18b

a full b20b engine is BS. like if u are plannin on putting a low power bigger motor in and b00sting it would be great...
But to take a b16a2 out and put a b20b in would be rediculous IMHO if Not boosting the b20.

Re: (sleepyH22)
you can either reuse your old b16 head and do a b20 vtec to make it fit. otherwise you would have to get a ls manifold cuz the b20 one wont clear the hood.

You can make power with what ever powerplant you choose. When it comes down to it usually you can only pick two out of the three, fast reliable or cheap. It doesnt matter what I or anybody on here thinks, what matters is what you want to accomplish. Do your research in here and you will find out what you will want to do. Dont worry about what these other **** are saying.

You should watch what you write, you can alienate yourself within minutes. That said, where exactly are you going with this swap?
Or do you just want to put the motor in, but for what purpose?

b20's redline at like 6200....if u DONT build the b20 and u stick a b16a head on it....yes u will have vtec....but for only what??? 700rpms?? lol....the b20 w/ vtec head does not rev to 8200 like a b16..it revs like a b20 just with 700-900 rpms of vtec...YAY sounds like big fun...
You oughto just build the b20 to rev to 9k and stay N/A

what do u mean man??? what i said makes sense dipshit.
A b20 fully build with a built b16 head...would be awesome...8-9k rpms...and what maybe 200whp? sounds good N/A powa dawwwwg
OR i was also trying to say that a STOCK b20 bottom end with a vtec head is a waste..there is a boy around my neighborhood who has a gsr teggy with a b20 w/b16 head, and guess what, he uses a 00 SI ecu in it (keep in mind his teg is a 00 as well) and he hit vtec once and yes it went to roughly 8k (thats what he said, i wasnt there nor do i care to know anymore about it) but he said it threw a rod.

Yeah, sticking a B16a2 head on a B20 block is STUPID unless you're changing the internals and/or boosting.
Why?
The CRV is a light truck/SUV motor, it's made to make optimal torque, at a lower RPM.
The B16a2 head is THE EXACT OPPOSITE. It's a head designed for high RPM (8200) with high airflow, on a low displacement engine.
It's attaching two of the most opposite *** components...to each other.
So unless you plan on changing the internals of the B20 - It's not even worth it. Yeah the head'll flow better - but that's about it, you're comparing a B16 head which is made to work AFTER 4k, with a B20 block which is made to work BEFORE 4k, then these stupid idiots try revving the thing to 8200 on stock internals, pop a rod, then they come back here and tell everybody what a **** block the B20 is, then a bunch of tools read it, and then you got a bunch of retards running around saying the B20 block is weak, don't use it, etc. etc.
God....

Yes, it a a waste on a stock bottom end. And your boy is kind of dumb using that ECU. A 1.6L ECU on a 2.0L motor? It'll run like ***.
You know what happened as soon as he went to 8k? He probably threw a rod because the rod bolts stretched, or because the motor ran ridiculously lean. LS/B20 rod bolts are the weak point in that motor. They stretch at high RPMs because Honda never intended them to go that high. That's why the LS/B20/VTEC motors that last run ARP rod bolts. And calling people names is mean.
