B20B into EK
Will a stock B20b engine with a stock automatic front wheel drive CRV transmission fit into a 1996+ civic (EJ6) ?
I do know that the intake manifold would need to be changed to one from B18b (LS).
I did try to research it on this forum, and even a few other ones, but since automatic transmissions are not popular among Honda tuners, I was unable to find any helpful information.
I want to replace the engine in my daily driver and I got an offer for a B20B swap for the same price as a d16y8 , but I'm only interested in it if I don't have to mess with mixing and matching any major parts. Since I drive this car every day, I'm looking for something simple that I could do by myself in no more than two days.
If CRV (FWD) transmissions do not fit civic's, I'll just have to fall back on my old plan of getting an auto b18b.
Remember, this would go into an automatic civic hatchback that would be used for everyday city driving... not racing.

Re: B20B into EK (d16rice)
Getting info on auto-trans is like pulling teeth
I've seen a few people on the web asking questions about this, so I'm sure someone knows something.

Yes it will fit. It's been done. Just another B series. I wouldn't know what tranny to use, maybe LS? I don't know if the b20 tranny will fit because of how different the chassis are, I'm thinking it would bolt up but I don't know.... Oh and if you're getting a b20, do yourself a favor and get the b20z

Re: B20B into EK (fast88std)
I'd love a b20z, but the price would be a lot different. The only reason I'm looking at the b20b is because I got a very good deal on it.
