B20B gone, wheels gone :) - review - 56k Try me.
not gone, but rather sold to make room for parts with a little more bling .
For the past few weeks I expirenced a JDM b20b ('00 version - ala b20z) with Y21 LSD tranny, JUN flywheel it was quiet a fun ride around town, always in power band and alot of torque to make me smile. Now this was replaced with JDM B18C (ala b18c1). b18c is a much different beast compared to b20, it is defiantly quicker but doesn't really put so much smiles on me. Torque on the b18c is great as well but can't really be compared to b20.
just before the b20 swap I have decieded to do the 5bolt change over. all I can say its more bling then it really is beneficial. GSR brakes with endless pads and few sets of wheels which I rolled on definatly provided as much stopping power, and grip only unmatched is the fade resistance on CTR brakes. Where I have notice a difference is acceleration, it is no longer as crisp. overall its not something I would have done again.

Is that the stock IM on that B20? The B20s I've seen have the really tall IM. Is the JDM version shorter or something? Forgive the stupid questions from a B18C guy.

thanks..
wheels in the back are Heliums....4 bolt.. 5 bolt is still sitting on the floor. haven't had the time to do it.
the b20 intake is 99-00 style with the torque chamber.
why not b20vtec, its a money issue to build one up to my specs will be more then the car its self, so its a pita.

and this is B18C number 2 for you or 3. I can't keep up with you 'engine *****'
nice to hear that review on the B20. and for the people above asking about the intake mani, this B20 is not off of a CRV, but some other vehicle in Japan.

thanks,
2nd b18c, that acutally made it to the car. there were many more before this, including b18c3/b18c
possibly a new setup in weeks to come; this is what being jobless and searching means. You get time on your hands, to do things you know you shouldn't.
indeed the motor is from a Orthia wagon

Ahhh, suburbia. Makes you want to get a Volvo and a cockerspaniel. I'm surprised the ordinance ***** haven't come to interfere with your motor swapping fun.
Car looks good, probably runs good too. Nuttin' like a low mile Jap motor.

likely he meant that the added rotational mass prevents quick precise thrtottle response from the engine to be translated into forward motion.
--> just like adding heavier wheels... more mass for the motor to rotate =
Oh yeah, nice work man, youre always doing something new arent ya! you still scared of theft huh.... (not making a big B20vtec the right way)... that sucks we have to live like this
