B20B block with EG6 SIR B16A VTEC head various questions
So am I very new to Hondas and I am considering putting a B20 block from a StepWGN in my SIRII EG6. First of all I searched, but didn't find any information. I looked at the Swap FAQ to, but the thread is so large I couldn't find what I wanted. From Wikipedia I found that with the B20B non-VETC has an compression ratio of 8.8:1 with a redline of 6,300 RPMs, while the B16A in my car has a compression ratio of 10.2:1 with a redline of 7,800 RPMs. What will the compression ratio be with the B20 and my VTEC head?
I already have an LSD in the car and energy suspension engine mount inserts. I found that ARP head studs were recommended since the B20B studs are a bit short. What other parts should I change or do I need? I figure if and when I do this swap I will replace the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump. Obviously I will want some sort of tunable EM to take full advantage of the swap, but how will the stock B16A ECU handle the increased displacement? Will I be able to continue to spin the engine to 7,800 or even higher? I would be happy with 8,500 RPMs. Will I need larger than stock injectors or a bigger fuel pump and a FRP with this swap?
Thanks in advance.
