B20/VTEC - Turbo Lag
I've got a B20/VTEC Turbo (.48 x .63) and am experiencing a bit of lag when the turbo tries to spool up. I know I need to open up the exhaust (cuttently running 2.25") but any other ideas on minimizing the lag until I can come up with the money for a 3" Hayame exhaust?
Done so far;
Minimized the size of the vac lines
Ensured the BOV is workin properly to eliminate compressor surge
Check oil delivery to turbo
To Do;
Change O2 sensor
Thanks...........

Re: B20/VTEC - Turbo Lag (Islandspeed)
well you might wonna get that thing up to at least 2.5" or bigger if possible. o2 housing and downpipes can be really responsible for turbo lag. As for exhaust just take your exhaust off, your car won't be terribly loud since you got a turbo. It will sound actually pretty nice, and reduce your lag.

Re: B20/VTEC - Turbo Lag (EM1 MIKE)
yeah it's not really loud though, it just sounds like a madd semi turbo. Exhaust sound is pretty much canceled out. I see tons of people running open downpipes around here mostly SRT-4s non of them get touched, unless they **** around.
