B20/vtec problem

Default B20/vtec problem

okay,..my friend says its got to be something with the vaccum,..anyways the car idles fine,..but when reving up it revs slow and then it back fires,...anyone ever experience this???help would be appreciated

sounds IAC related. what kind of car is it in? check the iac plug and make sure you are not getting any codes.

Check your timing belt and lower crank pulley. Sounds like you're off 1 tooth on the belt.

Also, check the ECU, make sure it's not throwing a code or mis-wired.

Lastly, check your grounds, make sure they are all making good contact.

the timing on the car has been checked and is right....check engine light is on....1st gen b16 head onto a 98 b20 ...was put into a 95 gsr......fourth..third..and second plugs are soaked with fuel..pretty badd too...i was told that it was vacuum related...i was also told to get a valve job...also told it was timing...i checked timing and is alright...vaccuum i dotn know how to check..,.

Idles fine but still soaked in fuel? Weird....
