Default b20/vtec or h22 for EK, need more pwr&tqr?

Hey whats up, just need some advice on witch way to go. Currently im running the dual cam 1.6 and I want more power but really love All Motor power. Ive been to the strip a few times and the best ET I could swing was 15.1 at 96. The car just wont get out of the whole fast enough. I figure its because I got no torque so recently found a cherry h22 but dont want to cut up the car,(shifter relocation). any way dont mean to ramble any help is appreciated, my goal is to get the car in the low 13"s on street tires.

Just do a mild cr(11:5:1) b20 block and replace it for that lil 1.6 you have on your car.

Do a good research and make sure the b20 block is properly built and with the parts and experience available these days its easily attainable. The best part is.

ITs all compatible with everything you currently own.

We were all newbies once. Lets make a difference and help them.

**EDIT**

Im sure that DOHC head you have is probably stock so remember there are lots to improve upon there on top of the block swap.

thanks, my head is stock Im going with JUN stage 2 if I purchase cams. But my main concern was if I should build b20 witch we know will end up costing about the same amount as prelude. I know the prelude swap adds a lot of unwated wait and its a tight fit. Ive heard alot of people going b20 but around here just not that many people seem to have done this swap.

H22 is an EK is good but is only good for straight line performance. Otherwise it just throws the whole balance of the car out.

I like to keep everything simple and so far you got it easy. Go B20 and as long as you do it right, it shouldn't cost as much as a H22 swap.

Good luck

look at it this way, you say if you build the b20 it will cost the same as the prelude motor right? Thing is the motor will be BUILT, you will have a lot nicer motor and will hopefully be going faster. Also, you say not many people run this setup in your area, to me that is an incentive to do it. Be original man and while you are at it, kick some ***!!

If you already have a bseries, then the b20 would be cheaper because you can resuse the tranny and mounts. You would need to buy the engine and tranny for the h22.
