Default B20 Swap- Can I keep A/C?

So I have a 95 honda civic coupe and I am looking into putting a b20b in the car to give it a little more pep around town. I live in Oklahoma and it gets stinkin HOT! here in the summer and cant go with out A/C. What would it take to keep a good running a/c in my civic even with a b20 swap? Sorry if its a noob question. Its my first swap. Appreciate the help!

Yes, its very much possible. Make sure its a 134A system and all you have to do is hook your compressor up and have it charged.. No offence but if you have to ask you should probably pay someone to perform the swap for you.

horrible information.

If your b20b engine came with an ac compressor attached it, simply remove the compressor that came with the b20b. Your factory d16/d15 compressor will bolt right to the new engine. The b20b's uses the same d-series ac compressors and there is no need to discharge the system. The engine can be swapped with the ac compressor hanging in the engine bay.

Maybe this is bad info, but if there is no a/c mount on the b20 that you get you will need one from a b series motor. (del sol vtec mount) The compressors are the same, but d series and b series use different mounts.

But like jayWknight said, dont disconnect the A/C lines! Just unbolt your compressor from the motor. Same with the P/S pump.

It can be one of two mounts:

- any 97-01 crv

- del sol DOHC

They both use d series compressors

Thanks a lot for the information! Love being able to ask a question and get an answer and not be hounded for being a noob. Yes it is my first swap but I like the challenge. I will not have some one else do it for me. Thanks again.

Are these the only B series engines that use a d series compresor?

those are the two that everyone uses for adapting d-series compressors. if there are any more i'm not aware of them. for what it is worth i used a '97 crv bracket when i swapped my obdII jdm gsr engine into my '97 hatch.

5 year old, dead thread

Don't necrobump threads like this. Ever. For any reason. Period. Go read the FAQ sticky. Put in just a modicum of effort, and you'll find the information you need. It's literally right in this very thread - you didn't even have to post. But you did, and now here we are.
