Hey I have a 92 civic with a b20 swap. It starts fine some times goes to 1k rpm and then jumps to 1.5k and then sometimes even higher but then sometimes it starts and dies but if u rev it while starting it will start I have a map code and my voltage on the signal wire is 4.8ish and won't change and the worst part about it I cant even get my ign timing close to set I have to retard the distributor all the way to get it close to the marks and even then its still off. I have checked and searched every forum and tried everything they said to do and nothing fixes it please help
The setup is
97 jdm b20b switched to obd1
Pr4 ecu
Fuel pressure set at 40psi
Everything is stock except i/h/e

check and see if your map and tps sensor plugs are switched up. common error. if thats true double check iacv and iat plugs.

I traced the wires back to ecu with wiring diagrams on both and even tried running the wire straight through and no changes. Would it be possible for a faulty speed sensor to cause this sometime it work and sometimes not. And would the iacv throw engine codes cause I cleaned it with no luck. The only engine code I have is for the map sensor. I'm about to give up on it I've already dropped a fortune in it and I can't afford to take it to a shop
