Default B20 Or D16y8 turbo

I'm wondering if i should go with a b20 instead of just trying to turbo my d16.. i have the whole turbo kit but nothing for the tune, no pistons, etc. basically stock motor.

Should i just sell the d16y8 and turbo for a b20 and fully build the b20?

Well from what most people say, B20s are not that reliable under boost even if you have a good tune. If you want something cheap, then just turbo your y8. If you want more torque and turbo then get a B18a or B18b(LS)

Boost the D16... that's my opinion... you can make 300 hp on stock internals...

You're almost there. Save some more and get the tune. Are you missing the ECU as well? If so it's not that much more. If you're desperate to get boosted you could *cough* run an FMU until then. I'm running stock internals for now until the parts for the engine build are all purchased. I'm pushing a very modest 6psi on a 15g to keep it safe until then.

Well yeah, i'm halfway there but i'm starting to think my engine is going bad or some ****.. I just took it out of the garage and it's idling only at 100rpms.. then i restarted the car and i would have the clutch in just crusing and my **** would be idling at 1200-1500 sounding like i have a big *** cam or some ****..

Did you check your exhaust? It could be a exhaust leak.
