B20 block and Ls head what kinda results.(test)
I was thinking about getting a b20b cant find a b20z here. and throwing a ls head on it with an ls tranny what kind of power output do u think i can get out of that it will be in my 93 cx hatch... if anyone knows or has experience on this let me no.. i no the compression on the ls motor is higher so maybe it will put down more torque and power. also would like to know which would be a better ecu to use.

someone was stating that the heads are completely the same is this true.

Yes. The compression will not change. If the ls has higher compression, its because of the pistons, not the head. |
Re: B20 block and Ls head what kinda results.(test) (pane93civhb)
the only thing diff. is the cam profile of the ls which should put down 4 to 6 whp poss. more with cam gears and tuning of course you'd need a header and exhuast w/ intake cold air if wanting best results

Re: B20 block and Ls head what kinda results.(test) (92hatchb18)
so i would have to put in the ls pistons in the b20 block for better compression results and putting on the b18b head will not be worth the extra work or what. and what ecu would be better to use also..

uumm the ls motor is a 1.8 i dont think they would fit to well in a 2.0 https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

Re: B20 block and Ls head what kinda results.(test) (wannabe_si)
dude all the b series heads will swap sorry wanabe_si that isnt even a issue how do u think people swap heads on mini me's and ls vtec

Re: B20 block and Ls head what kinda results.(test) (pane93civhb)
i was talking about the pistons
|
Re: B20 block and Ls head what kinda results.(test) (wannabe_si)
yea that is right.. thanks. ha sorry u were not too clear. the bore is larger so maybe i should just buy some high compression pistons maybe for the ls motor or for the b20 motor

bump please help

Re: B20 block and Ls head what kinda results.(test) (pane93civhb)
b20 bore - 84mm
b18 bore - 81mm b18 pistons won't work in a b20 for obvious reasons. |
Re: B20 block and Ls head what kinda results.(test) (zman)
o yea i understand that but if i bore the b18 to a 2.0 cant i just use the b20 pistons. and it should create more hp if i bore the b18 correct. and couldnt i just put the b20 crank in the b18 also. ....

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I remember USDM B20B C/R to be as low as 8.8:1
Yeah you can run pee-water for octane but might as well just leave the factory head on it. LS head isn't going to do much |
Re: B20 block and Ls head what kinda results.(test) (devi1man)
yea well this is if i get it.. maybe i should just stick with the ls swap and later sell it and cop the h22a complete for my hatch.. that may be the best bet.

Re: B20 block and Ls head what kinda results.(test) (pane93civhb)
b20 w/ ls cams would put you more wheel horepower and torque than an ls and 1990 prelude si motor can be pick up pretty cheap
