B20, b20v bard-able? Help CALI.
I live in California and it’s starting to get hot. Like cops are pulling people over and making them popping their hoods so I’m wondering Can a stock b20 be bard in a ek coupe? I heard it can’t because a b20 is consider a truck/suv engine but some people say it could so I’m confused. And Can a b20v be bard? I’m using my stock ex civic harness so vtec wires are just hanging atm with my stock b20 in it. If b20v can’t be bard, is there a way to hide the vtec wires To make a b20 bard-able? And any other tips to make a b20 bard-able if it could be bard? Thanks I appreciate it.

BAR is an acronym of a place you take your car to so it can get inspected. You pass the BAR inspection.
Now that that is out of the way...
Basically you take a B20 (B,Z, whatever) and you put the corresponding B18 emissions equipment on it.
Since you said EK coupe, that'd be 96-00...
Now it depends on what year civic you have. You'll have to put in the stock emissions equipment for an integra LS same year of your civic or newer, onto the B20 engine.
Take it down to the referee at the BAR station, pass inspection (as long as you don't try to take any shortcuts, it'll pass really easily) viola, you've now 'bard' your civic.
Enjoy your 15-40 HP/tq more than your stock civic engine, and no worry about getting popped since you'll have that flashy sticker in your engine bay.

I'll jump right in before you waste time, the B20 cannot be legally swapped into your Civic because it originally came from a truck/SUV. You will need to swap over to a different motor that can be USDM-ish and from a car.
They aren't dumb and know what they're looking at. No jumper harnesses, chipped ECU's, etc. etc.

It changed around 2013, according to the ref my brother took it to.
We did it on my brothers car. The b20 is allowed as a replacement for a b18, as long as you use all of the corresponding b18 emissions equipment.
So to swap a b20 into a Civic is the same as swapping a b18b into a Civic, the only thing different effectively is the block. Use all the factory parts, an Integra LS cat converter, usdm oil pump with the crank sensor, and the right p75 ecu and it's fine.

NP dude.
NOW, you cannot pass a b20-vtec. It's not a factory motor.
I had a plan of passing inspection with a b20, then just swapping a VTEC head and seeing if I could smog it under the radar with the bar sticker...but it never happened.
