Default B20 —> EG

Hey all I’m almost done with my b20 build. However I have come across something that I read, I will have to change my timing belt side post mount because it will sit uneven in my bay? (The motor currently has the 2 bolt post mount)
The motor will be going into a 93 civic ex.
I was not aware of this if this is true.
I just assumed I could use my OE civic driver side mount since they were the same bolt pattern. Never would of thought it would not sit level.
Confused on this mount thing

Yes, the CRV engine bracket on the left side will cause the timing belt end of the engine to sit LOWER than normal, so the engine will NOT sit level in the engine bay. Switching to either a '99-00 Civic Si engine bracket (if you intend to use a two-bolt mount) or a '94-01 Integra bracket (if you intend to use a three-bolt mount) will cure your problem.

Factory OE Bracket part numbers: '00 Civic Si = 11910-P30-000 and the Integra bracket = 11910-P72-000

hey thank you for the reply ! This has saved me a lot. I would of ended up pulling my motor and been screwed. Thankfully I enjoy to read a lot on here. The forum I was mainly using didn’t mention nothing about changing the post mount. I will be adding that to the list of parts.

I checked majestic Honda. The item numbers are different so to answer my own question or if anyone else was wondering, no it won’t work.

Unfortunately, to swap the bracket properly, it is easiest to pull the engine out if you haven't already essentially completely installed it. One of the three bolts holding the bracket to the block is covered by the lower timing belt cover and thus needs to be removed to access it. This means that the crank pulley must come off in order to remove that lower timing belt cover.

Luckily it’s my winter build so she’s still on the engine stand. Just picked up a competition clutch 12lb flywheel for her today. Excited for spring

Well... the bracket will be easy-peasy to swap then. Good luck OP. Enjoy.
