b18c5 short block b16 head question
hi guys
i found a good deal for a b18c5 short block and i was wondering if i could just bolt on a b16 head to it w/o any mods, ie. valve springs, retainers, etc.
if i just bolted on the b16 head would it run safe ?
just curious b/c i'm looking to swap my motor, but if this is an ok idea, i may just swap the short block and keep my head
this is for a em1 btw.
any info is appreciated, thanks.

Re: b18c5 short block b16 head question (turbociviccoupe)
CR won't change either so you won't lose any power - at least I don't think it will.
Might be a little weaker (or not to the best of its ability) at top end b/c I don't think the B16 springs/retainers can last to the RPM that the ITR head can w/o floating the valves. So I'd use the redline of the B16.
I could be wrong though - just a thought.

Re: b18c5 short block b16 head question (Syndacate)
The b16 head will produce less power than an ITR head thats for sure. You could just upgrade the internals of the head later on when you get a chance.
