Just got my EK type R going but went to emissions and they ran a OBD II test and the ecu is throwing out Knock, O2 and crank fluctuation speed sensor codes. I believe my motor and car is fine because it runs sweet. Do you guys know if this is normal? Can these codes be fixed? I heard the JDM p73 ecu doesn't look for knock or any kind of sensors initially so it wouldn't throw those codes out...this true? Since I'm speaking of the jdm itr ecu is it better than the usdm itr ecu, would my car run better with it compared to the usdm itr ecu?

did you hookup all those sensors? if so then you should not have those engine lights. it is true that the 96-97 spec ITR does not look for those sensor and is 1 wire vtec

i may be wrong but i don;t think you can pass emissions with a jdm ecu

yes he is right about that. jdm ecu might not let you pass.
