B18C4 + P30 with ITR map-copy chip = cant fast idle & stall after it rev
Hello guys, not sure which section to go but with P30 ecu i guess this is right section.
This is what's going on.
my setup is: engine from EDM 1.8 vti B18C4 OBD1(like Integra GSR with IAB)
OBD1 ecu P30 chipped with ITR map (the person who own, he told me is ITR fuel map)
i done ecu pin changing to match b18c4 for p30
everything connected, engine able to start no code showing
but it wont able to fast idle(like cold start, stay at 1400rpm ish)
it stay on 800+/-. then after engine is warm. then it idle funny dropping between 500-700.
if i tap the gas abit, it do rev, but when it come down, it cant hold the idle again then stall.
so i do the 2pin CEL see did the ecu store any code because of it. it have none...
So i plug back the ECU which is for b18c4 it run ok, can fast idle etc.
So...guys from all your exp, any idea what went wrong.
THank you for reading and reply

hmm.. i see... so what if i take out the chip at the ecu, (like leave the socket empty)
will the ECU still funcation -able, like go back to standard P30 ?

remove the chip and cut/remove J1 to get the ECU back to stock form... the stock P30 will start and operate the engine, but it will run it lean... and we all know lean = dead in no time.
Look for a tuner locally and have it done right.
OR hit up any one of the dealers on the eCtune site and have a chip shipped to you. eCtune has one of the best basemaps for the ITR engine I've ever seen.

Are you running the stock fuel pressure regulator? If not, adjust it for more pressure, then less. An ITR map won't run all that great because it is more than different enough from that motor, refered to the GSR motor over here. My guess is its a mix between fuel issues (rich or lean), a very dirty IACV, and/or a vacuum leak (possibly the FITV if you have one). I'm just curious if your IAB's are open at idle, that could cause it to idle differently (but wouldn't be the whole issue).
You may want to just bite the bullet and buy a P72 ecu, which should run that motor the best. Otherwise you'll probably need a street tune on something like Crome. A chip for a OBD1 Honda rarely works well due to the way a MAP-based engine works, *especially* if its a chip for a different motor. The P30 map will be more likely to run the motor better than that chip.
