Hiya guys, my Civics a JDM EG4 with a B18C4 engine. Just before christmas my car broke down and I need to get it sorted so I can sell it asap. The problems battery/alternator related I think. For a few weeks previous to the car stopping running, the battery light and the other red light directly to the left of the battery light would both light up from time to time. When my civic finaly gave in, the lights on the dash and headlights were very, very dimm and the car was very under powered and coughing and spluttering.
What do you think guys? simply change the alternator?

Check your grounds and the batt terminals before you replace the alternater.

The earth battery terminal was very loose for a long period of time but I realised about 2 weeks and and nipped it up. I thought this was the cause of the lights coming on from time to time but the problem continued after I tightened up the terminal.

Also - what is the red light directly to the left of the battery light?
