B18c1 Swap only revs to 7k Help please!

Icon3 B18c1 Swap only revs to 7k Help please!

Hey guys, I did all the research i can and i was wondering why my car cant rev to 8k? My vtec kicks in at 6k i can hear it. It chokes or cuts fuel right a 7k. Im thinking i have a messed up head.

I have a 97 integra gsr swap into 2000 dx hatch and im using a 97 gsr ecu with dx harness with conversion harness obd2b to obd2a.

Thanks guy any ideas or help will do.

Any check engine lights? Is it a virgin ECU or has it been chipped or jacked with? Is your DX harness stock or modified for vtec? DX harnesses aren't set up for vtec. Just trying to find out your whole setup.

yes, i do have a check engine light. Im thinking because of O2 sensor and i modified my dx harness to run vtec and all that. Im also running a virgin ECU. I just took it for a drive again and now my car revs to 8k now. So im just unsure if itll rev to 8k again.

First I would start by diagnosing the CEL to see what the ECU is trying to tell you and go from there.

Did you do the 3 wire to 2 wire IACV conversion on the DX harness? Is the CKF by the crank plugged in and converted from 3 to 2 wire? 2nd O2 extended and connected? How did you wire up/connect the intake air temperature sensor? Just a few wiring things I would check as there are differences in the DX and B18 connections.

Thanks, the car running fine now. All iacv conversions and ckf are good. It was just weird how the car just cut fuel at 7k. But then again thank you!
