B18c1 swap into 93 hatch = bad fuel pump?
I just got the vehicle and got super lucky due the a good friends new wife, and soon to be babies mother he figured a 4 door jeep was better than the 1993 civic hatch with a b18c1, pro series/skunk 2 intake, z3(no plastic) fenders, fully redone interior dash, carpet, everything with 2001 integ leather seats, exhaust, r34 body kit, halo head lights, re-done suspension, that he recently paid over 6k for. W.e im happy lol. The car is loaded, I drove the first week suuuuper careful just waiting for the ohhhhhhhhhhh thats why he traded moment, and its not there. Everything new inside outside underneath and redone cleanly. Anyways, I digress, easy to tell im happy with the car.
Now when I got it he said the fuel gauge was off and that if it hit 1/4 of a tank it was out, but i had to try it, of course. It doesn't actually run out at 1/4 it will just cut out for a couple seconds randomly and come right back on. Maybe everyone 5 miles, 50 miles, etc. A guy I know has the same body with a b20 and his does this too, although more often and at any time/level of gas. Sounds like the fuel pump stopping to me. Maybe a reallly clogged filter. Car runs perfect as long as its above 1/4 of a tank though so im not sure. Maybe one of you can help.
Also any common tips/sites similar to honda-tech would be great. I want to be the one answering questions soon haha. If only it were a fiero, those i could tell you about lol.

In the original post, there was no mention of a swap. I got confused reading only halfway through. Sorry.

Seafoam because its good, or because you think its the filter?
No problem lol, I should have mentioned it, the only reason I thought that is because another kid with a swap said that he thinks swaping the bigger engines burns the pumps out.
Alright, I'll read that. xD
Thanks for the fast replies lol

Ok so if that was my problem, wouldnt my best bet to be just replace the pump to prevent other problems seeing as most of the other part are after market / upgrades. Should I got stock or will a "better" pump actually provide a difference?

I had a similar problem back in 03. The sock in the tank fell off the fuel pump. SO my car would sputter and stall soon as I hit quarter tank. Check and see if the sock came off the filter. Of course, drive your car til you hit near quarter tank.

I fixed a friends with the exact same issue, but the only thing I had handy was superglue, but I agree epoxy would be better. Its been holding for 6 months now.
