engine swap?
I have a 5G Civic DX coupe. I've been wanting to swap for about a yr. now but never actually had the $$... Anyways, I was just curious if anyone on this Msg Board know's how much it would cost for a B16a, B18b, & a b18c1 swap? Also, what were your results after swapping? Thanks to everyone who replies. Laters.

Re: engine swap? (slowdx)
i've got a full USDM b18c1 swap w/51k on it for 2300
it does need a tranny cause mine has no synchors left
i got priced $350 for the tranny parts to fix it all
so that's 2650 total

Re: engine swap? (XS Speed)
I've had the following swaps (still own the ones with the * by it)
B16A2* - 142whp 102 torque on the dyno. - no times but slower than the 14.6 B18C1 swap for sure.
B18C1 - 150whp and 122 ft/lbs. of torque on the dyno. 14.6 on street tires in full interio 1992 Si hatch.
B18C5* - 175whp and 123 torque on the dyno. 13.9 on street tires full interior 1992 Si hatch.
The B16A2 is in my girl's car and has been since 2000. At the same time I had an identical car with a B18C1 and the B18C1 would beat the B16A2 down at any rpm range. From a stop the B18C1 would win by at least 2-3 cars into 4th gear.
As far as the B18B goes there's a million different answers. I'd say stock for stock the B18B1 is definately slower than the B16A even though some will argue. I've driven a few B18B hatches and even B20 hatches and they do not pull as well as the B16A IMO.
I know two brothers who both had 1992-1995 CX and Dx hatches. One had a B16A (170hp JDM second gen) and the other had a B20 with Skunk2 manifold and LS tranny. Every time they raced the B16A won.
Hope that helps some.
As far as where to get the swap goes, try http://www.importautosalvage.com
Their prices are not the best, but you will not beat their cleanliness or service. All of thses lowballer shops sell shitty incomplete swaps and they won't return phonecalls or e-mails if you have problems. Import Auto Salvage is the ****.
You can call them at 1-800-962-8922 and ask For Larry Jr. or Randy - tell them Tom from GA sent you.
