b18c1 ignitor into a b16a2 dizzy.
im suspecting my ignitor (icm) is dead in my 99 si b16a2, because ive changed out cap, rotors, wires, plugs, and coil. my buddy has a spare 94 gsr b18c1 dizzy and want to know if the ignitor from the b18c1 dizzy will fit into the b16.
ive searched the archives and found that there is conflicting results on this. some say all b series ignitors are interchangable. if this is so, then, why do honda and acura have different ignitor part numbers for the 94-01 gsrs, 94-01 ls/gs/rs, and 99-00 civic si?
my research shows that honda has the same ignitor parts for all 96-00 civics (including the 99-00 b16 civic si). so, if assuming b series teg ignitors can fit and run in a b16 99-00 civic si, then, with the above research, the conclusion would be that all 92-00 civics and all 94-01 teg ignitors should be compatible. is this correct?
has anyone ever tried putting a gsr ignitor into a 99-00 b16 dizzy?
PS: FYI, i do know for certain that all 94-01 tegs and 92-00 civics have the same part numbers for the coil.

Re: b18c1 ignitor into a b16a2 dizzy. (spidermancivic)
So what you are saying is that you don't know how to diagnose **** on a car and you are just going to keep throwing parts, money and time at it until it is fixed? Thats cute.

the wires are 6 months old. the cap, rotor, and coil is 4 months old. they have been tested for resistance, voltage, and continuity according to helms specs. please dont jump in this thread and post stupid responses. thank you sir for your cuteness.
ive already tried different ignitors. the ignitors from a, d series, b18b and b18c will fit if you change the mountings on the ignitor. they are all physically alike with the exception of the mountings and each will fire up.
basically, heres what i tried on my obd2 b16 dizzy and it fired up.
obd2 d16y8
obd2 d16y7
obd2 b18b1
obd 1 b18c1
i havnt tried any obd1 civic ignitors, but, im assuming they are the same. ill post more results later. i also have 2 obd0 dizzys that i plan on swapping around and trying out the ignitors on em.
