B18C1 GSR Swap into a 1993 Del Sol
Hey guys I am looking to drop a GSR into my sol and just wanted to get as many hard facts before i do this. I have a 1993 Del Sol SI D16z6 is in it right now, and i want to put in the GSR now should i use a 96+ GSR w/ the hydrolic trans or should i go with the older GSR with the standard trans? I plan to change out the timing belt, water pump, headers, exhaust, and clutch when i get the motor but what else is needed for the swap? Am i going to need a new ECU, radiator? Also and another question is it possible to swap the front brakes to the rear and then replace the front with some brembo drilled brake kit?

Re: B18C1 GSR Swap into a 1993 Del Sol (NarCiuss)
1.) there's an FAQ thread at the top of this forum page that has about ten step-by-step B-series into EG/Del Sol chassis guides to which you can refer during this process.
2.) You'll need a B18C1 with a hydro transmission (1994 - 2001). The cable transmission will not work with your chassis without extensive modification (not to mention, cable trannies suck dick).
3.) You will need GSR axles, mounts, shift linkage and ECU. Any swap you buy should come with all of that included.
4.) No, you cannot move the front brakes to the rear. If you have an Si, you already have disc brakes in the back, so you don't really need to worry about it. Upgrading the front brakes is only suggested if you're going to be tracking the car extensively, as high-performance brakes are not required for daily driving.
Take this advice and be productive. You caught me in a good mood - it's rare

Sweet thanks for the facts. As to the brakes i will be putting the brembo once i turbo the motor and was just wondering since the rear rotors are tiny.
