B18C1 Bogging / Dying at WOT
I made a thread about this problem a while back and got a lot of great responses as to what to do, and I did everything that people suggested. Several hundred dollars later, my problem remains the same.
Whenever the accellerator is pinned to the floor it will go for about a half to a full second then completly cut out, even if I have the pedal floored it will start to gradually lose speed. RPMs decrease in the same fashion.
Please help

try a known-working ECU?
btw, any CELs?
hows water temp. when it shuts off?
check your fuel pump? maybe its just not getting fuel at high RPM

sounds like a TPS problem all the way. I'd check the voltage across the range. SLOWLY turn the rotor to open the TB while someone is holding the wires to check the voltage. If it dips or jumps at any point, you found a bad sensor. It could also be a loose wire in the plug. But this DEFINITELY sounds like a tps issue. My Ls hatch does the same thing if it's cold and damp out, and other times works fine. I'd throw on another tps, but it's been cold as ***** here for months and it's intermittent.
Hope that helps.

that's not true-the car will run with teh MAP unplugged.i know for a fact as i had to drive my car with the MAP unplugged.
to the original poster, best thing i can suggest is to get a shop manual and troubleshoot all the sensors.does it only do it at wide open throttle,or also at partial throttle?try a compression test to ensure the motor is in good condition.when you say you checked timing, did you mean ignition, cam or both?
do you have access to any other ECUS to try?a P28 or P30 would be close enough to tell you if it's the problem.

maybe its the fuel pump, or maybe injectors are screwed a bit

Re: B18C1 Bogging / Dying at WOT (Burns)
I would tend to sway towards a TPS or MAP sensor problem. It'd be nice to get a scanner on there and see what voltage is at different engine loads/RPM. Get a Helms and go through the troubleshooting for these sensors
