Default b18c1 block?

i have a 00 civic si and my buddy is selling a b18c1 block for dirt cheap. would it be a waste to put my b16a2 head on that block? would there be any improvments?

wrong its an LS block and a vtec head.

Anyways there would not be enough gains to do the swap over. I believe the benefit would be more tq.

Wow... seriously if you guys dont know what you are talking about please do not post. A b18c1 block mated with a b16 head is a "poor mans R" Ep_Kevin is reffering to an LS/VTEC setup. Now first things first when perfoming this swap it is ideal to change out the gsr pistons due to it lowering the compression raito due to the b16 head. You can use ITR/CTR/ or you can just swap over your pistons and it will make good power. Any more questions just sent me a message i will be more than gladly to help you choose the correct path.

I was reffering to what the person above me stated. I was correcting him because people call the ls vtec a poor mans type R swap.
