b18c1 in a 97civic
i have the b18c1 with the GSR tranny and i am ordering the hasport mortor mounts i need the obd1 GSR wiring harness and ECU is there any other wiring harnesses that i could use such as the b16 from the si or the b18 from the LS with out hacking into the wiring b/c i am having a hard time findin a none cut GSR wiring harness

'96 - '98 Civic EX harness is going to be the closest thing you'll find. You'll still need to wire in the IABs (secondary butterflies) if you use the stock manifold and want them to function. and you will need to cut and lengthen a wires for a few connectors. GS-R harness will not work in a '96 - '00 civic, they will in a '92 - '95.

Harness design is completely different. '96 - '00 civic is a one piece design, '92 - '95 civic and '94 - '01 integra are a 2 piece design. GS-R ECU will plug into a civic harness just fine BTW so long as its OBD2A

It will plug in, and the engine will start and run, but it will run lean. Its not a viable solution. Either get:
A. OBD2A P72 (GS-R ECU)
B. Chipped OBD1 P28 + Adapter harness

yo man 1 last thing not to be a pain in the ***.. but do i have to get an OBD2 distrubutor if i ran the chipped p28 or can i still keep my obd1 distributor? cuz i no i would have to if i ran the p72 obd2a right

The only difference between OBD1 and OBD2 distributors for the same engines is that OBD1 versions have 2 plugs, OBD2 have 1 plug. If its an OBD1 GS-R then this should answer just about every question you have about wiring, I originally posted this in another thread but i'm copying and pasting it here.
Ok, i'm going to try to make this as simple as possible.
- '96 - '98 EX Manual harness.
- Injectors, you have 2 options:
-Option 1 - Cut the injector clips/plugs off and solder on OBD1 versions
-Option 2 - Get a set of used OBD2 B18 injectors. (I perfer this personally)
- Distributor You have 3 options:
-Option 1 - OBD2A B-series GS-R/B16/ITR distributor.
-Option 2 - OBD1 GS-R distributor case, shaft and bearing assembly, coil and igniter with OBD2A CYP/CKP/TDC sensors from any civic/integra OBD2A distributor.
-Option 3 OBD2A to OBD1 distributor adapter harness.
- Alternator 3, possibly 4 options:
-Option 1 - Use an OBD2 B-series alternator
-Option 2 - Swap an OBD2 voltage regulator into the OBD1 B-series distributor (the voltage regulator can be taken from an OBD2 D-series alternator.
-Option 3 Cut and splice an OBD1 Plug onto your engine harness. (I really don't like this method)
-Possible 4th option, OBD2 to OBD1 alternator conversion harness (I'm just not positive they exist)
- ECU Options:
-JDM OBD2A P72 ECU (USDM ECUs will look for sensors that will be missing
-Jumper harness + OBD1 P72 ECU
-Jumper harness + OBD1 Chipped P28 or P30
End paste. Only other thing i'll mention, don't use a '99 - '00 Si alternator, they use a different plug than anything else. If you are swapping in an OBD2 GS-R engine then what i posted above doesn't apply to you.

easiest thing to do would be get obd2 injectors and ignition. a 96 to 00 ex/si harness with a si ecu. and hasport mounts, i have a used set for cheap if you still need mounts

Nooo. You don't want to run a GS-R with B16 ECU, sure it'll start up and run, but it will run lean. Si harness I seem to recall you will have problems with, due to it being OBD2B and the car being OBD2A in terms of where it connects to the chassis harness.
