Default b18c gsr idle issues!

got a b18c gsr and i'm experiencing idle problems. i'm obd1 so no codes are coming up for anything, when i know i should be getting them.
the car was idling fine, then i started pushing it alittle bit, and long driving and it started to surge and idle was at 2200 rpms in neutral.
it stayed there everytime the car is warmed up, and the other day i went somewhere which was an hour drive, and beat on it alittle bit, and then the idle went up again and is now idling at around 2600 rpms
the vtec controller is telling me that in neutral, the car is getting between 1-8.6% throttle when i'm not giving it any. have negative pressure also.
iacv or throttle body or what?
need help asap!

Start by cleaning the IACV, check the sticky's for details. Might want to clean the Throttle Body as well.

The IACV would be the best place to start. It's tended to mess up on the majority of Honda's I have owned, but an easy and cheap fix.

Oh, i forgot... You can also make sure that your thottle cable isn't terribly tight. I've had that problem on some swaps, specifically a B16 I put in.

Throttle cable should have a 1/2 inch of slack. Unplug the Idle air control valve sensor while your car is running and if the idle dies down then its your iacv. If not clean your fast idle thermo valve since its obd1. Could be air in the cooling system too. Drain, refill, burp the system.
