well seeing as the C5 has the most horsepower... derr....
but if money is an option the gsr is best.... ctr and itr swaps are expensive

well the gsr engine is availabe anywhere.. the CTR engine is a not so popular engine due to its price tag and lack of displacement. but the CTR would def be OMGJDM....

The displacement will help in most areas, plus if you need specific GSR parts there's a chance you're going to find them cheaper than CTR.

go for the bigger motor... the bigger motor has more potential for upgrades too. And it's cheaper, and it has more torque. And torque = your car's nuts.
Only drawback is the weight. Heavier motor = more weight in the front so it will handle differently than the little motor.
It's up to you, but I say torque and gsr c5

Re: B18C GSR or B16B CTR
Get the GSR engine for sure. There is almost no difference in weight, so you aren't really paying any penalty for the extra displacement. The car will handle the same since the engines are about the same weight. (A b18 is almost exactly the same engine as a b16 except for a slightly longer stroke. The heads can be switched between the two engines. I think the biggest difference between the two engines is a different crank, and slightly longer connecting rods in the 1.8L engine.)
So with the GSR you get a little extra torque. Plus the parts are cheaper, and with the money you save you can start choosing which turbo you are going to get.

GSR... you can build it to type r specs
i've heard so many say b16 just isnt much power. great high revving engine but so weak on the bottom end
i'd also like to ask... what body you dropping it into? cuz a hatchy with a b16b would still be a little shocker, then again.... gsr into that and your gone. it all depends on what you want out of this car.

Seriously. B16b. Hands down the better swap. All u people saying displacement on the 1.8 vs the 1.6 gotta be joking. B16b stroke is the same as the gsr. Deck height is the same. And the ctr revs better and performs better all around. Both are good swaps but if they are similar prices get the b16b.
