I've found most B16 (S1, Y1, etc) trannies synros go bad.

How do the B18 trannies compare?

GSR and Type R trannies receive dual syncros on the second gear. That's the only difference on the syncros.

The GSR trannies have crappier gearing. I would look for a b16 tranny, but thats just me.

BTW...my gsr tranny's 3rd gear grinds when shifting at 7800rpm and up. Typical Honda.

i agree with waffles..id look for a b16 tranny before a GSR for the sake a better gearing
also my friends GSR tranny does the same thing hitting third gear but he said lately it hasnt been doing it..weird huh
