b18b1 swap into 99 ex
I want to ditch my sohc and get a integra ls motor. Is this a good idea and if anyone has done it please tell me the results. Where is the best and cheapest place online to find the motor? Open to any suggestions.

Re: b18b1 swap into 99 ex (carjacker006)
I did it in my 98 coupe, relatively the same about 10 days ago. Its a good motor if your looking to boost it. If your looking for all motor you may want to consider another motor, any vtec motor. Best places to get a motor is is http://www.importautosalvage.com . Check out my signature for pics of their swap. What is your price range, what do you plan on doing?

Hey bro i just noticed your from South Carolina, I am too. Hit me up on AIM: Doostur and we can chat. I know some awesome local tuners. By the way importautosalvage is located in North Carolina, you can pick it up and save a ton on shipping.

Re: b18b1 swap into 99 ex (Doostur)
thanks for the reply. Could u tell a big difference in the new motor having all the torque. I have a friend with an ls integra and that is why i want the swap. We are pretty even through 1st and 2nd but from 3rd on he starts to pull on me. I also think the b18 is a better platform to start from, but i think if i get one i would go ls/vtec before boosting it.

When I had my DY8 in my car, i would stay right with LS Integras or even pull on them. Right now there isn't much difference with just a stock ls. But as soon as I boost it ... thats a different story. You plan on going LS Vtec and building up the motor, then yea, the ls is a very strong motor
