Works just fine. You just need to make sure to use the GSR rods/crank together and you'll be fine.

Cons:
Less torque out of boost

Pros:
You get to run the GSR rod bearings (narrower and made of a lot better material than LS bearings. Can sustain high RPM much better than the LS bearings)
Shorter stroke means theoretical slightly higher RPM capability (arguable, though, as many people will turn an LSV pretty high)
Stronger connecting rods
Larger rod bolts (9 mm vs 8 mm)

stock LS pistons and LS head? Then you should be fine. And everything that RyanA said. But you cant raelly turn a LSV that high unless its built for over-reving. Still you cant really take it up that high without risking it. Usually people kill their LSV's by revving them to 8k+
